Step by Step: sculpting my first attempt of Chaos Warrior

I've been trying to make my own chaos warrior blood bowl players for quite a while. Right now I have my first warrior finish and I'm in the process of making some resin copies of him. You have seen pictures of it during the modelling process here and here.

I've to tell you that the version that you can see in those image is the 4th one. The first 3 versions didn't make it pass the legs. The first version was the one that use to make the How to make chainmail with putty tutorial.

Mattias Darrow ask me if I could show how I make the legs in another tutorial but that is quite tiresome for me so instead I'm going to show you the pictures step by step. At the end, with two or three techniques you can make anything with putty or green stuff and I've already explain all the techniques that I used in other tutorials.

In the 1st version of the Chaos Warrior I started doing the feet and latter building the armature for the legs and the lower body with pieces of sprue on top of them. (the picture showing how I made the feet is actually from the second version but I didn't have one of the first and they were quite similar).

Group pics of our Space Marine, Ork and Necron armies

A visitor from my Spanish blog ask me for a group shot of all the Orks that I have. So, as I was already on it I decided to also take a shot of our Space Marine and Necron Armies. I would have taken one of our Imperial Guard Army but I was tired of taking out and putting back into a box so many miniatures.

Cardboard scratch built Ork Deff Dread

This dread was done in a simillar way to our scratch build Killa Kans, but at a bigger scale. We don't usually play with an ork dread in our rosters but is always nice to have options.

Tutorial: How to use Green Stuff / From WFB Skin to Blood Bowl Player

In this Step By Step Tutorial I try to explain how to use Green Stuff (GS from now on) to do conversions of around 28mm miniatures, to do that I use the example of a Warhammer Fantasy Lizarmen Skin that I convert into a Blood Bowl Skin player.

You can enlarge the images of this tutorial by clicking on them.

Introduction

I'm going to work with GS that probably is the most known modelling putty, maybe because Games Workshop sells it. In my case I use Sylmasta's GS DURO, this putty has two components a blue one and a yellow one. The GS is sold in different formats, I normally use the reel version but is also available in stick format as it can be seen in the picture below.

Crater due to the explosion of a Killa Kan

 Dessert Terrain Week

In this entry I want to show you the last crater that I had made until today. Is by far the most complex of the 3 of them that I have made. This one tries to represent the explosion of a Killa Kan.

Crater due to an explosion

 Dessert Terrain Week

This piece of terrain is another crater is the second one that I made and is a little more detailed than the first one but quite easy to make still. I tried to represent that the blast of an explosion have left some bare rock when it has impel some of the earth that were where the bomb have explode, it also have some pieces of rock fragmented during the explosion. I know it isn't too realistic but it is easy to make.

Alien Dessert Jungle

 Dessert Terrain Week

Hello There!
With this entry I start with the Dessert Terrain Week where I will upload some entries showcasing the terrain pieces that I'm making to use in my Warhammer 40000 games, following the line of the crater that I have already posted.. This first two pieces are a kind of Jungle. I made them using some cheap artificial plants.

Originally I planned to have a mix of different plants but after visiting three different shops I only found one kind that will serve my purpose.

Custom made Chainfist for Ironclad dreadnought

We had two Dreadnoughts from the Warhammer 40000 "Black Reach Assault" box set, and we wanted to change one of them into an Ironclad Dreadnought. The easier way we came up with was to change the arm with the multi-melta with another combat arm. We decided to make the Chainfist instead of the Seismic Hammer because it was easier to scratch built.

To make it we used A+B modelling putty mixed with Green Stuff, plasticard and some wire. We also use a spare meltagun to make the built in arm weapon.

How to Sculp Chainmail with putty or Green Stuff

I know there are a lot of tutorials of how to do it but it isn't as simple as it seems. In this tutorial I show a modification of the normal tutorial that I came up with recently. The tutorial shows directly the first time I have tried to do a chainmail this way, I just came up with and idea and started to do it without really knowing what I would obtain.

Paymaster (Dogs of War character) version 2.0

Hello!
In this entry I'm going to show you the uptodate version of the paymaster of our Warhammer Fantasy Battle Dogs of War Army, yes we have a Dogs of War army even if there have disappear since the 7th Edition of WFB. I name him Rodrigo Pepinillo (that more or less means Rodrick the Pickle), and I made its initial conversion at the begginings of the year 2008 around the same time that my brother and I made the dwarf Anvil of Doom. This miniatura had been "updated" trhough time as well as other of our conversions, in this case the change has limited to its head.

When I first started making this miniature my intention was to make something similar to the image below, that represents a mounted paymaster in a Lustrian campain:
