How to do a "Betuneado" (Quick Painting Technique)

Introduction:

The "Betuneado" painting technique is a quick way to paint a lot of miniatures in a short time. The results are not awesome but for me are just good enough.

For the technique is necessary "Betún de Judea" that could be translated as Judea Bitumen or Syrian Asphalt. This product is usually use in wood aging. The name of the technique came from the word "Betún" (bitumen) and is like doing/applying bitumen.

The technique also needs a  matt-varnish.

The results are similar to the ones obtained using the dip method were the miniatures are dipped in a product like Minwax PolyShade or whatever other product.

The next pic show a preview of the result

Cardboard Ork Killa Kans

We made this scratch building project before the GW plastic Ork Killa Kans were released, as a cheaper and better looking alternative for the metal ones.

I even made a step by step tutorial for a Spanish forum of the hobby and some people copied it to other forum or sites, so I guess they like it.

Savage Orc Big Boss mounted on chariot

When we play Warhammer with the Orcs Army and the 7th Edition Rulebook we usually use an Orc Savage Big Boss mounted on a chariot as the big boss transferred the Frenzy rule to the rest of the chariot making it a meat grinder.

This combination have its dangers as the chariot will try to follow and charge everything that goes into his line of sight and a flying unit could made that the chariot end up in a forest with a lot of chances of being destroy by itself. Nonetheless if you play with orcs and are not willing to take any chances you will not win a lot of games =D

Our conversions of Ogres into Ogre Kingdoms Maneaters: Historic Evolution

The Ogre Kingdoms Maneaters are one of our favourite unit in all the Warhammer Ogre Kingdoms Army Book. My brother and I started building our Ogre Army in the year 2005 a little after the release of this brand new independent army. From the beginning we wanted to have some maneater, but we didn't have a lot of money to spend in them and we really liked the pirate one and there wasn't any on the stores when we went. So we started to make our own maneaters. In this entry I'll describe our Ogre maneaters and how they had evolved with time.

How to make a Warhammer Fantasy/Mordheim House (cheaper version)

How to make a Warhammer Fantasy/Mordheim House (cheaper version)

This Tutorial is a continuation of the other tutorial that I have made about the construction of a Warhammer Fantasy/Mordheim House and I would refer to it constantly, so I recommend you read the other tutorial first.

In this tutorial I show how to build the town hall of the town I made to play Warhammer Fantasy or Mordheim. It is a more economic construction as instead of paper foamboard I use corrugated cardboard.

Mounted Black Orc Warboss

When we play with our Orc army using the 7th Edition Rulebook for Warhammer Fantasy, we almost always use a mounted Black Orc Warboss that acompanies a unit of Orc Boyz. As we didn'tlike any of the miniatures available to represent this Lord we decided to made our own.

Other Blood Bowl stuff

Other Blood Bowl stuff

Apart from the teams and pitches we have made other things for this game that are not easy to short by. (more info inside =P )

Blood Bowl 7 Pitch

A little after we start playing Blood Bowl for the second time, we were introduced to the easier and quicker version of the game: Blood Bowl 7. This version has a smaller field and there are 7 players per team instead of 11. First I tried to make a folded pitch using EVA foam instead of printing the field but it was a disaster so I decided to do something more easy.

How to convert 6th edition Dwarf Warriors into Ironbreakers (tutorial)

This is a tutorial that I made some time ago for a Spanish electronic magazine, now I bring it to you translated as well as I can and hoping that I had used the right words.

With this tutorial we are going to obtain a Warhammer Dwarf unit that looks like this:

Folding Printed Pitch for Blood Bowl

The first thing we do when we first tried Blood Bowl was to build a Blood Bowl Board the easier way we could think of. Thus, we searched the Internet for some printable Blood Bowl field designs, we modified the one that we like the most in order to add the scatter template, the template to know what kind of pass is being attempt and some squares to keep up the score.

Cardboard Ork Trukk

My brother and I have three Ork Trukks for our Warhammer 40000 Ork Army. One of the trukks is the plastic one that came with the Orks Battleforce, we made the other two with cardboard and the plastic bits that we didn't use in the plastic trukk.

Adds in the Blog

Adds in the Blog

Hi, this post is to inform the visitors that this blog is going to have some adds displayed. It is a temporary measure because I don't have any idea of the results that is going to have. If I see that it is only a nuisance I will stop displaying adds in the blog.

Google decides what adds to show and the control I have over them is rather limited. The adds should be related with the blog thematic but who knows.

Whenever someone clicks on an add I would receive a small amount of money. None of you should click on them if you aren't genuinely interested. I not encouraging anyone to click on them as that goes against the agreement I subscribed with Google. Furthermore clicking on an add will automatically redirect you to another webpage, so I recommended that you finish reading the post before clicking on an add.

I will spend the revenue that I receive with this adds, if any, in keep working on the hobby and improving the blog and its perception by any means that I consider convenient.

Dwarf Runelord with Anvil of Doom (Sculpted/Convesion)

Another one of the conversions of my brother's Warhammer Fantasy Dwarf Army is his Runelord with Anvil of Doom. This conversion is an old one, we made it in January of 2008, and we spent a lot of time making it, nonetheless we are still surprised by our own result.

Dwarf Lord and Shieldbearers version 2.1

Almost every Lord and Hero of my brother Warhammer Fantasy Dwarf Army is a conversion of some sort. In this post I would like to show you my brother's Dwarf Lord on shield with two Shieldbearers and how they have evolve with time.

My High Elf Army

This is my Warhammer Fantasy High Elf army, it is a little more than 2000 points and there are 83 painted miniatures. I have other miniatures that are in process of been painted like 5 Dragon Princes of Caledor, 6 or 7 Silver Helms or a Tiranoc Chariot, but I don't usually use them in my games. I have to say that in my group we still play with the 7th edition rulebook, which explains the organization of the units. (Pics get bigger by clicking on them)

Little dragon for my High Elf Army (sculpted)

I wanted to have a Great Eagle for my Warhammer Fantasy High Elf army but I didn't want to spend a lot of money in a model that I didn't really like. So I decided to do something more unique, more personal. First I thought of making a Phoenix but afterwards I decided that probably a little Dragon would be better suited for my army. Now, with the new High Elf miniatures in mind I think it would have been better to make the Phoenix.

Blood Bowl Dwarf Team

Welcome

Welcome everybody!

I'm Sir Skofis and I'm from Spain. I have created this blog to collect and display all the things that my brother and I have made along the years for different wargames (almost everyone created by Games Workshop).

My brother and I had been playing Warhammer Fantasy since the year 2001, and later on we have also started to play other wargames like Warhammer 40000, Mordheim and Blood Bowl, this last one we enjoy specially.

All the way from our beginning we have built vehicles and terrain pieces, modelling some miniatures, converting others and painting a lot of miniatures. The last part is not our favorite and you will not see in this blog amazingly painted miniatures.

I have lots of stuff to show, some might be even interesting, but for the moment is all in Spanish and I have to translate it before I could post it here. If you like, you could take a peek at my spanish blog to see what kind of stuff you could expect.

I hope you decide to stay with us.

See you!
